Adron Homes Marks Nigeria’s 65th Independence, Pledges More Investment in Housing
Nigeria’s real estate sector has been under pressure as the country faces a huge housing deficit, estimated by the World Bank at over 20 million units. On Independence Day, property developers are positioning themselves as partners in national development.
Adron Homes and Properties Limited has used Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary to restate its commitment to nation-building through affordable housing and community development.
In a goodwill message, the company’s Group Managing Director, Aare Adetola EmmanuelKing, praised the “resilience and unity” of Nigerians over the past six and a half decades.
“As Nigeria marks 65 years of independence, we salute the courage of our founding fathers and the collective will of Nigerians who have kept the dream of a united, prosperous, and progressive nation alive,” he said. “Today is not just a reminder of our past struggles, but also a call to greater responsibility in shaping the future we all desire.”
Call for stronger policies
Mr EmmanuelKing urged governments at all levels to prioritise policies that support economic growth, infrastructure, and affordable housing.
“At Adron Homes, we believe housing is not just a basic need but a catalyst for economic empowerment and national stability. We remain committed to complementing government efforts in bridging Nigeria’s housing deficit by making affordable, accessible, and quality homes available for all,” he added.
Industry reactions
Housing experts say corporate investments like Adron’s are crucial but stress that government intervention is equally important.
“Private developers can only go so far,” said Abuja-based urban planner Tolu Adeniran. “Without stronger housing finance systems and land reforms, the housing gap will persist.”
Residents in Lagos also welcomed the company’s pledge. “Real estate is expensive here. If developers can truly make homes affordable, it will change lives,” said banker Ifeoma Okafor.
What’s next
Adron Homes says it will expand its housing estates, create more jobs, and roll out community development initiatives in the coming years.
The company also called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and united. “The dream of a better Nigeria belongs to us all,” EmmanuelKing concluded.

Frontier Calls for Better Housing Finance, Infrastructure to Reduce Nigeria’s Housing Deficit
Nigeria’s housing deficit cannot be addressed through private sector investment alone, according to Frontier Commercial Services Limited, which has called for stronger government support through affordable housing finance, improved infrastructure and simplified regulatory processes.
The call was made by the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Olalekan Oseni, during a media briefing ahead of the Mainland Housing Summit, where he responded to questions on mortgage accessibility, land administration, infrastructure and investor confidence in the real estate sector.
Oseni said access to finance remains one of the biggest barriers preventing many Nigerians from owning homes or investing in residential developments.
“We are bringing in financial institutions because the major issue that people are facing is the aspect of finance,” he said.
“If people have access to finance, I think there will be a lot of problems to be solved.”
He said banks and other financial institutions expected at the summit would engage prospective homeowners, developers and investors on available mortgage products and financing opportunities.
Affordable mortgages key to housing delivery
Responding to questions on mortgage financing, Oseni argued that affordable lending could help bridge Nigeria’s estimated housing deficit, but warned that lengthy approval processes could discourage borrowers.
“If it takes a long process and people don’t have free access to it, then it becomes difficult,” he said while discussing low-interest mortgage initiatives.
According to him, making mortgage facilities easier to access would encourage more people to build homes and enable developers to undertake larger housing projects.
He added that lower borrowing costs could also make it financially viable for developers to construct multi-unit residential buildings capable of accommodating more families.
“Instead of me building just an apartment for myself, why can’t I build something that can take 10 people?” he said.
Infrastructure seen as catalyst for growth
Oseni identified transport infrastructure as one of the most important factors shaping future housing development across Lagos and neighbouring Ogun State.
He said improved road networks and mass transit systems could unlock emerging communities by making them easier to access for residents and businesses.
“If people can access all these areas easily, let’s assume that we have a good metro system and within 20 or 30 minutes you’re already there, people will make use of that.”
He argued that Lagos still has significant land available for development but said poor accessibility has slowed growth in some corridors.
“The land cannot increase. But how can we manage the land space that we have? Number one, by having a good road network and accessibility.”
Urban planning experts have similarly argued that transport infrastructure often influences residential expansion by reducing travel times and encouraging commercial activity in developing communities.
Call for easier approvals
The Frontier Commercial Services chief also urged government agencies to simplify planning approvals and other regulatory procedures affecting housing development.
“The major role of government is to make things easy for people,” he said.
“If policies are not helping people, then something has to be checked.”
He suggested that reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks would encourage more private investment in residential construction while helping to increase housing supply.
Housing stakeholders have repeatedly identified regulatory delays, infrastructure gaps and financing constraints as major obstacles to delivering affordable housing across Nigeria.
Investor confidence depends on transparency
Questions from journalists also focused on public trust in the real estate sector, particularly concerns about land documentation and government acquisition.
Oseni said prospective buyers should conduct proper due diligence before purchasing property, noting that ownership documents alone do not always protect developments from demolition.
“Documents are not the only reason why government demolishes property,” he said.
He explained that planning violations, structural deficiencies and government acquisition could also affect developments, making independent verification essential.
According to him, Frontier Commercial Services provides clients with the documentation required to verify land ownership and regulatory approvals.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining construction standards.
“We don’t compromise on quality. It’s better you get it right and build something of quality.”
Population growth adds urgency
Oseni linked Nigeria’s housing challenge to rapid population growth, arguing that future urban expansion would require more efficient use of available land.
He noted that while Nigeria’s population is expected to continue rising over the coming decades, the country’s landmass will remain unchanged.
“The landmass can never increase,” he said.
He argued that expanding transport infrastructure and encouraging higher-density residential developments would become increasingly important as cities continue to grow.
Advice for first-time buyers
Asked what advice he would offer people entering the property market for the first time, Oseni encouraged gradual investment rather than waiting for ideal conditions.
“Your first property won’t even be your last one,” he said.
“Anything you can lay your hand on, go for it.”
He said many buyers stop investing after purchasing their first property instead of building a long-term property portfolio over time.
Why it matters
Nigeria continues to face a significant housing shortage amid rapid urbanisation, rising construction costs and limited access to affordable mortgage finance.
While private developers remain central to housing delivery, experts say achieving meaningful progress will require coordinated action involving government, financial institutions and the construction industry.
Improved infrastructure, transparent land administration, easier access to finance and consistent urban planning are widely regarded as essential to expanding affordable housing and strengthening investor confidence.
What’s next?
Frontier Commercial Services said the Mainland Housing Summit, scheduled for 25 July, will bring together developers, investors, banks, built environment professionals and other stakeholders to discuss housing finance, infrastructure, policy and emerging opportunities across the Lagos–Ogun corridor.
The company says the event aims to encourage informed investment decisions while promoting dialogue on practical solutions to Nigeria’s housing challenges.

In a goodwill message released on Thursday, the Adron Group chairman praised the governor’s leadership style, saying his administration has strengthened Ogun State’s reputation as a leading destination for investment and industrial expansion in Nigeria.
The tribute comes amid ongoing efforts by the Ogun State government to attract local and foreign investors through road projects, industrial policies, and youth-focused initiatives.
Why It Matters
Ogun State remains one of Nigeria’s key industrial hubs due to its proximity to Lagos and its growing manufacturing sector.
Analysts say continued infrastructure investment and business-friendly policies could further improve the state’s economic competitiveness and employment opportunities for residents.
Corporate endorsements from business leaders such as Adron Group also reflect increasing collaboration between the private sector and state governments in driving development initiatives.
What Adron Group Chairman Said
Aare EmmanuelKing said Governor Abiodun’s administration had demonstrated “purposeful and people-oriented leadership” through its focus on infrastructure, economic development, and human capital growth.
“On behalf of my family, the management, and staff of Adron Group, I sincerely felicitate with Your Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, on the occasion of your 66th birthday,” he stated.

He also prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and good health for the governor as he continues in public service.
Ogun State’s Development Push
Since assuming office, Governor Abiodun’s administration has prioritised road construction, industrial development, education reforms, and youth empowerment programmes.
The Ogun State government has repeatedly positioned the state as a gateway for commerce and manufacturing, with several companies expanding operations within the region in recent years.
Public affairs observers say birthday tributes from political and business stakeholders often highlight the growing relationship between governance and private-sector investment in Nigeria’s development landscape.
Industry and Public Perspectives
Business leaders in Ogun State have increasingly emphasised the importance of stable governance and infrastructure development in attracting investment.
Economic experts note that partnerships between governments and private companies can help accelerate housing, transportation, and industrial growth across the country.
Residents and stakeholders are also closely watching how ongoing projects under the Abiodun administration will impact jobs, transportation, and living standards in the coming years.
What’s Next?
Governor Abiodun is expected to continue implementing economic and infrastructure policies aimed at strengthening Ogun State’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading investment destinations.

Adron Homes Congratulates Muslims on Eid, Calls for Peace and Unity in Nigeria
Adron Homes & Properties has congratulated Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world on the Eid celebration, calling on citizens to uphold the values of peace, sacrifice, love, and unity associated with the season.
In a statement issued by its management, the real estate company described Eid as a period of spiritual renewal that encourages compassion, gratitude, and harmonious coexistence among people regardless of religion, ethnicity, or social status.
The company said the values demonstrated during the holy season remain important for national development, especially as Nigerians continue to grapple with economic pressures and social challenges.
“The values of selflessness, obedience, and generosity demonstrated during the holy season remain essential ingredients for national growth and societal development,” the statement read.
Why the message matters
Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid al-Adha, is one of the most significant religious celebrations in Islam and is widely observed across Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation.
The celebration often serves as a period when political leaders, corporate organisations, and religious groups promote messages of national unity, tolerance, and support for vulnerable communities.
Analysts say such public messages have become increasingly relevant as many Nigerians face rising living costs, inflation, and economic uncertainty.
Adron Homes encouraged Nigerians to use the festive season to strengthen relationships, support the less privileged, and pray for peace and economic prosperity in the country.
The company also reaffirmed its commitment to providing affordable luxury housing and building sustainable communities for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
Corporate and public perspectives
Nigeria’s real estate sector has continued to expand despite economic headwinds, with developers increasingly positioning themselves as contributors to community development and social stability.
Industry observers note that beyond property development, many companies now use major religious and cultural celebrations to connect with customers and reinforce corporate social responsibility commitments.
Adron Homes said its vision remains centred on creating secure and family-oriented communities that promote comfort and long-term value for homeowners.
“Eid is a sacred period that promotes spiritual renewal, compassion, gratitude, and harmonious coexistence among people irrespective of tribe, religion, or social status,” the company stated.
What’s next for the housing sector?
Experts say Nigeria’s growing population and urban expansion continue to drive demand for affordable housing, even as high construction costs and inflation challenge developers.
Real estate firms are increasingly focusing on flexible housing solutions and community-driven projects to attract middle-income earners and diaspora investors.
Adron Homes expressed optimism about the future while wishing Muslims a peaceful and memorable Eid celebration filled with joy and fulfilment.
