AIG Adegoke Nets Suspected Criminals in 30 Days, Parades SUV Theft, Cultism, Firearms Possession

Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Adegoke Fayoade has achieved significant successes within his first 30 days in office, tackling various crimes in Ogun and Lagos states.

 

Notable arrests include two suspects for stealing a white Range Rover SUV and N39 million worth of items, including ammunition.

 

The primary suspect, Salaudeen Abdulbaki, confessed to masterminding the theft, using a duplicated key and pretending to be his boss to deceive security guards.

 

Another suspect, Francis Istifanus, was arrested for stealing industrial equipment worth N39 million while working as a security guard.

 

Additionally, Ibrahim Babatunde was arrested for cultism, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, with two locally made pistols and live cartridges recovered.

 

AIG Adegoke praised SP Mariam Ogunmolasuyi, head of the Anti-Piracy Unit, for her dedication and investigative prowess, which earned her the IGP commendation and “Investigative Officer of the Year 2024” award.
