A new chapter has begun at the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command with the assumption of office by Comptroller JE Edelduok as the new Customs Area Controller.
The handover ceremony took place on Friday, May 31, 2024, where she took over from Acting Assistant Comptroller General MM Tilley-Gyado.
Acting ACG Tilley-Gyado praised her successor, describing her as an officer capable of leading the Command to greater heights.
She highlighted the Command’s achievements under her tenure, including a 55% increase in revenue generation from January to May 2024, amounting to N36.6 billion.
She also noted the successful revitalization of operations and expansion of terminal availability, transforming Kirikiri Lighter Terminal into an Export Processing Terminal (EPT).
Comptroller Edelduok expressed her gratitude to the Comptroller General of Customs and his Management team for the opportunity to serve.
She pledged to consolidate on her predecessor’s successes and work in line with the CGC’s policy thrust of consolidation, collaboration, and innovation.
She urged stakeholders to join hands with her to take revenue generation to the next level and promised an open-door policy, welcoming suggestions on how to take the Command forward.
The new Customs Area Controller thanked the Comptroller General of Customs and his Management team for the privilege to handle the affairs of KLTC, promising to serve with unwavering commitment and humility.
With this transition, the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command is poised for continued growth and success under Comptroller Edelduok’s leadership.
