GOV AIYEDATIWA’S CPS LAUNCHES SUPPORT FOR WIDOWS IN MEDIA

Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State, on Friday launched an educational support fund for children of late journalists and female journalists who are widows in the State.

 

A total of ten beneficiaries were presented with N50,000 each as by the CPS, who promised that the gesture will be repeated at the beginning of each academic term (three times a year) as long as he remains in office as CPS to the Governor.

 

Presenting a cheque of N500,000 to the Chairperson of the Ondo State Council of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Tola Gbadamosi, Prince Adeniyan said the gesture was borne out of the love Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has for media practitioners in the State.

 

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, Prince Leke Adegbite and his deputy, Mr. Hakeem Gbademosi, attended the event, held at the NUJ Press Centre in Akure.

OGHA TASKS JOURNALISTS ON OBJECTIVE REPORTING, PLAYS HOST TO FRSC SECTOR COMMANDER

Ogun State House of Assembly has challenged the journalists in the State to continue to uphold the tenets of their profession by being objective while reporting various activities and programmes of government to the governed.

The Assembly Speaker,Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide gave the charge, while playing host to the members of the Consolidated Chapel of the State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) led by Comrade Segun Olukoga, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Speaker counseled that as the members of the fourth estate of realm, they should always be cautious of the impact of their reports on the overall wellbeing of the people, saying though, Journalists face a lot of risk in carrying out their duties, yet they remained the voice of the people at all times.

He promised to continue to accord them necessary support in all their activities, saying the legislative arm would always be ready to assist them in carrying out their activities.

Earlier in his presentation, Comrade Olukoga solicited the support of the Assembly in all the Chapel’s activities, while seeking other areas of protection for Journalists through the implementation of relevant legislation.

The Assembly also played host to the State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC) led by the Sector Commander Anthony Uga, admonishing the officials to carry out more enlightenment campaigns and reorientation to reduce road crashes rather than imposing fines on motorists.

– Marketers urge residents against panic buying

 

 

The office of the Special Adviser on Special Duties and Strategy in conjunction with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources rounded off meetings that commenced on Monday, April 29 with the leadership of Independent and Major Petroleum Marketers in Ondo State.

The State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, had directed an immediate intervention in the fuel shortage within the state which culminated in these meetings.

The government officials sought and secured the support of the marketers, and true to their commitment the fuel situation has started recoding some improvements this evening, Wednesday, May 1.

The marketers advised members of public to avoid panic buying as the issue of logistic creating the hiccups in the supply chain would be resolved very soon.

LASG URGES LASTMA CADET OFFICERS TO MAINTAIN PROFESSIONALISM IN THEIR SERVICE TO MOTORISTS

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has emphasized the importance of professionalism among its cadet officers in serving the motoring public across the state.

During the commencement of a 3-day training course for Lastma Cadet Officers at the Foresquare International Conference Centre in Orisumbare, Idimu, Lagos, Hon. Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, stressed the significance of upholding ethics and professionalism in their roles.

He highlighted integrity, honesty, impartial application of the law, and respectful treatment of all citizens and colleagues, even in challenging situations, as essential principles.

Hon. Giwa however cautioned Cadet Officers of the Agency to shun corruption and be disciplined in the course of the job ahead of them.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Olalekan Bakare Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, underscored the objective of the training course to equip officers with the latest traffic management techniques, strategies, and best practices.

He emphasized the importance of providing exceptional service to the citizens of Lagos State and fostering relationships and networks for career advancement.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the cadet officers, one of the attendees thanked the Lagos State Government for the opportunity to undergo training and pledged to uphold the agency’s standards while fulfilling their duties to the public.
