IGP EGBETOKUN MOURNS DEATH OF TWO SENIOR POLICE OFFICERS, AIG MAKU AND CP AYILARA

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of two senior police officers, AIG Philip Sule Maku (rtd.) and CP Abdulwaheed Ayilara.

 

AIG Maku, who retired on December 12, 2021, served as Commissioner of Police in Bauchi and Ebonyi States, while CP Ayilara served in various capacities, including as DCP State Criminal Investigations Department, Lagos State, and Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State.

 

IGP Egbetokun said, “The dedication of both senior police officers to service and integrity can never be forgotten… Their passing is a great loss, not only to their families but to the entire Nigeria Police Force.”

 

He extended his condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased officers, praying for solace during this difficult time. “May their souls rest in peace.”

 

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, announced the IGP’s condolences in a statement on August 29, 2024.
