The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) have reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate in tackling illegal migration, human trafficking, and vandalism of critical national assets and infrastructure in Anambra State.
On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Comdt. Maku Olatunde, received the newly posted State Comptroller of NIS, Mr. GN Nzeribe, at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Awka.
The meeting aimed to strengthen inter-agency synergy and share intelligence in achieving their individual mandates.
Comdt. Maku pledged NSCDC’s continued support to NIS in combating irregular migration, human trafficking, and other transnational crimes.
He highlighted NSCDC’s achievements in protecting critical national assets, combating quackery in the private security industry, and fighting petroleum products adulteration and black market racketeering in Anambra State.
The State Comptroller, NIS, GN Nzeribe, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and called for a stronger partnership between the two agencies.
He noted that their alignment with the Ministry of Interior necessitates a synergy to achieve their mandates effectively.
The visit was accompanied by top senior officers of NIS, and the partnership is expected to enhance border security and immigration management in Anambra State.
