Idris Okuneye, Nigerian Controversial cross-dresser  popularly known as Bobrisky, has knocked women who are criticising him for identifying with the female gender.

NigeriaUpdates recalls that social media was agog after the organisers of the Ajakaju movie premier announced Bobrisky as the winner of the female best-dressed category.

However, reacting to the outrage, the movie producer Eniola Ajao explained that the organisers decided to give the best-dressed female category award to spark controversy as a publicity strategy.

Responding to those women criticising him after he received the award, Bobrisky, in a now-viral live Instagram session, said that women have no choice but to accept him as part of them.

He said, “Some people are saying Bobrisky, are you a woman, are you a this, are you a that? I’m not here to come and argue anything. Respect people how they want to be addressed, even without just looking at my body, without just opening my body to see anything. Number one, you need to respect people how they want to be addressed.

“I can see a lot of women coming out, you know, saying different things. I’ll not insult anybody. I love women. Women are the most powerful gender in the world, so I’m not coming here to say, oh, they are this, they are that; see you guys, ehhhn, you have no choice. You have to accept me as part of the sisterhood. Do you hear me? You guys have no choice. I’m part of the sisterhood already, so deal with it.”

Nollywood Actres Eniola Ajao, the producer of Ajakaju, has explained reason behind controversial cross-dresser, Bobrisky was handed the best-dressed award for the female category at the movie premiere over the weekend.

NigeriaUpdates recalls that netizens had continued to criticise the movie premiere organisers for handing cross-dresser Bobrisky the best-dressed award for the female category at the event.

However, in an interview with Arise TV, Ajao explained that the decision to award Bobrisky the best-dressed female award category was a publicity strategy.

She described the move as a joke stating, “It was just all jokes anyway, we just wanted to have fun, and we wanted people to talk about the movie; My SIM and I decided that we need to talk about this, it needs to be in the faces of people, so I have been taking it upon myself to protect the image of a lot of people at the same time I have been doing it all alone all alone by myself, I taking it upon myself to do it and I wasn’t getting any help that I feel I needed, so I said okay what can we do for people to talk about this film and we decided okay let us give it to Bob, Bob is always a controversial person, then at the end of the day people started talking about it…” she said.

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he met his wife, Chioma, before he became rich.

In a video shared on Dami Adenuga’s X handle on Sunday, Davido stated that it would have been difficult for him to enter into a relationship if he had not met Chioma.

Davido also noted that the sacrifices made by popular Nigerian artistes like P-Square, 2Face, and Dbanj are what other musicians are enjoying today.

He said, “I have a friend, he is like single, anytime I am on the phone with my wife, he would say he has everything in the world, but a wife is what he is missing.

“I met my wife before I had money, but I was telling myself if I didn’t meet her before then and now I am single, and I meet a girl, it wouldn’t be the same. I would feel the lady is talking to me because I am Davido and I have money.

“My own success is when I am doing something, and I see everybody around me. All these people around me were there when I was nothing and they see me now, that is a sweet thing to me.

“Whether they are awards, or concerts or when I bought my first Rolls Royce, I went there with my cousin like back then we used to talk about how we will buy this and that is the feelings. It’s not like when you blow up and start hanging out with different people. You need to keep the people who were there with you since grinding.

“I want to see the people that knew me as nothing. Now they see me as something.”
