The UBEC-SUBEB Model Smart School in Ibadan, Oyo State, will conduct its entrance examinations for Early Childhood Care Development Education, ECCDE, Primary, and Computer-Based Test, CBT, for Junior Secondary School levels on September 16, 2024.
According to the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, “the prestigious UBEC-SUBEB Model Smart School offers free and quality basic education… committed to equipping students with 21st-century skills through its modern computer gadgets and innovative teaching methods.”
Dr. Adeniran urged parents to take advantage of the opportunity, saying, “we expect a large turnout of prospective learners.”
He also noted that officers from the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, will observe the CBT exam.
In a related development, Dr. Adeniran expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the just-concluded EIDU pilot program for 25 staff members, aimed at equipping them with digital skills.
He commended the EIDU Digital Learning Programme organizers, saying, “this intervention program will ensure we improve the manner with which we teach our pupils.”
The Senior Education Officer, EIDU, Mr. Silas Armandos, said participants will apply what they learned in schools and receive Android phones and relevant teaching materials.
