Rite Foods Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading food and beverage manufacturers, has donated educational materials to 2,000 pupils in ten schools across Lagos, Ogun State, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, in commemoration of Children’s Day.

The initiative, part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive, focused on supporting pupils in underserved communities by equipping them with essential school supplies including exercise books and school bags made from recycled nylon waste.

The school bags were produced using packaging waste from Rite Foods’ own products such as Fearless Energy Drinks, Bigi Water, Bigi Soft Drinks, and sausage wrappers underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.

Speaking during the events held in Ososa (Ijebu-Ode), Ogun State on May 28 and Oworonshoki, Lagos on May 29, Ekuma Eze, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, stated:

“Our CSR program is symbolic of the role children play in nation-building. By encouraging education and sustainability, we are shaping a generation that understands the value of learning and environmental stewardship.”

The schools that benefited include Moslem Primary School, St. Thomas Catholic Primary School, and St. John’s Anglican Primary School in Ogun State; and in Lagos, Oworonshoki Nursery and Primary School, Local Government Nursery and Primary School, Ayeroju Nursery and Primary School, Mosafejo Nursery and Primary School, and Muslim Nursery and Primary School in Kosofe Local Government Area.

At each school, the company hosted a Children’s Day funfair, offering refreshments and interactive sessions that educated pupils on recycling and environmental responsibility.

Ismail Ganiyu, Head of Human Resources at Rite Foods, added:

“As part of our commitment to education and youth development, we’re proud to support our future leaders with materials that aid their academic growth.”

The initiative was implemented in partnership with Kazih Kits, a company known for converting waste into functional products. Dr. Chinedu Azih, Managing Director of Kazih Kits, said:

“This initiative is a testament to what can be achieved when corporate leadership aligns with grassroots innovation. Turning waste into hope for 2,000 children is both impactful and inspiring.”

Dr. Azih emphasized that the project aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
