Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was decorated as “Omo Eko Pataki” at the maiden edition of the Eko Mi Awards held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to the development of Lagos State.
Other notable awardees included Oba Elegushi, Cardinal Odunmaku, LTV, Journalist Hangout, and several others who were recognized for their excellence and dedication in various fields.
The Eko Mi Awards, powered by Eko Mi Eko Newspaper Publication, celebrates innovation, dedication, commitment, zeal, and excellence in Lagos.
The event brought together notable Lagosians from all walks of life to honor outstanding individuals and organizations making a positive impact in the state.
The publisher of Eko Mi Eko E Magazine, Otunba Bestman Nze-jumbo, welcomed guests to the magazine’s award event, stating, “This event is a brainchild of our publication, born out of our passion and love for Lagos State. We have worked hard to sustain our publication for over three years, dedicated to projecting Lagos positively and shining a light on areas where the government can improve.”
The editor of the magazine, Ganzalla Victor, remarked, “Our publication was born out of a deep emotional connection to Lagos, a city that welcomes all and provides opportunities for excellence.
Our vision is to bring the government and people closer, showcase the city’s goodness, address pressing issues, celebrate outstanding individuals and organisations, and uphold journalistic tenets. Since 2021, we have remained true to our vision, reporting without bias and giving voice to the voiceless.”
