Tiwa Savage, others bag Women4Africa’ Award in London

Nigerian music star, Tiwa Savage, alongside other female professionals from different walks of life, bagged awards at the just concluded 8th edition of the ‘Women4Africa’ Awards which held over the weekend.

Women4Africa is an annual awards night that celebrates ordinary African women doing extraordinary things.
Held in the heart of the City of London at the Prestigious Leonardo Hotel, St Pauls, London the event had Yvonne Jegede alongside Dr Shola Mos Shogbamimu in attendance.

Over 18 women ranging from arts, technology and healthcare sectors were awarded and celebrated for their relentless efforts to continually keep African flags flying.
Though absent at the award night Tiwa Savage, who bagged a special recognition award, commended Women4Africa organisers in a thank you video. She also dedicated the award to women who are pulling their weights in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Other finalists and winners at the event include; Honey Ajuwon, Lara Oyesanya, Theresa Owusu Partner, Adeola Onasanya, Feyisola Adeyemi and Juliana Olayinka of Channels TV.
Also, Professor Carol Makaka won the Humanitarian award and Dr Gillian Lakaereber won the woman in Pharmacy award.

In a brief remark, the founders of Women4Africa, Sam and Tola Onigbanjo, told newsmen that it is important to celebrate and write our own narrative for the world to see. “We will keep on celebrating our own and telling Africa and its amazing women stories to the world”.

Mohbad Management Debunk Singer’s Father Claim of Dropping Will

The management of the late Afro beat singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has debunked claims made by his father that the singer left a will behind.

 

According to Mohbad’s dad, Joseph Aloba, in a recent interview, claimed that his son wrote a will before his death.

 

However, reacting in a statement shared via the late singer’s Instagram page on Monday, his management described the claim as “false and misleading.”

 

The statement partly read: “No members of Mohbad’s management or his Lawyer have communicated the existence of a will or any such thumb-printed document (as has recently been FALSELY reported) to any member of the family or the public.

 

”We would like to state with certainty that if any such document did exist, it would have been duly registered with the Probate Registry. We therefore plead with everyone to refrain from sharing false and misleading statements like this.”

 

The management noted that “All accounts owned and controlled by Imole during his lifetime were immediately put on a Post No Debit order on the 12th of September, 2023. This order remains valid till date.”

 

The management added that the accounts “will be properly handed over to the family upon resolution of the internal dispute”.

Terry G Announces Exit From music Industry

Popular Nigerian singer Oche Gabriel Amanyi, known as Terry G, has announced his retirement from music.

 

The legendary ‘AKpako master’ announced this in an Instagram post on Saturday.

 

He thanked his supporters for their love through the years, although he didn’t disclose the reason for his decision.

 

He said, “A big thank you to my fans for staying with me all these years. I really appreciate you all. It’s been amazing years back-to-back. Thank you all for the love.

 

“But I’m about to make a big announcement. I know it’s going to hurt a lot of people, but I’ve my personal reasons. I’m quitting music. I’m done. And I really appreciate you guys for showing me so much love,” he added.

 

Some of Terry G’s famous tracks include Akpako Master, Free Madness, Jump And Pass, and Sangalow.

Patrick Doyle, Veteran Nollywood actor, has got netizens attention  over the comment on the cooking skills of his new wife, Funmilayo.

The movie star made this known while appreciating his former classmate, Mercy Kuku, in a post shared on Facebook.

Patrick claimed that some people have left an indelible impression on him in the past; however, no woman has cooked better meals for him than his wife, Funmi.

He wrote, “For whatever reason today, I am in a mood to remember and thank people who have left an indelible impression on me in the recent past. This is Mercy Kuku my schoolmate Kenny Kuku’s wife. She was my hostess in Atlanta and she literally blew my mind with her cooking. After my sweetheart Funmilayo, no woman has cooked better meals for me. Today once again, I say thank you to Mercy.”

Recall that on the 14th Decemeber 2023, the actor shares their pre-wedding photos online to announce their union and confirmed his divorce with his ex wife Ireti.
