The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has call on the federal government to do all that is necessary to create enabling environment for operators in the tech industry.
The Chamber’s President Asiwaju (Dr) Michael Olawale-Cole disclosed this at the on going 9th edition of the LCCI’s Information Communication Technology and Telecommunications (ICTEL) Expo in Lagos.
This year’s conference and Expo is with the theme: “Tech disrupt: Transforming Industries with Innovation ‘
Speaking on the essence and existence of the tech conference and Expo, Dr Michael Olawale-Cole said, ” the essence of ICTEL EXPO is to identify with high tech sector, the role they play in the nation’s economy globally.
ICTEL has given her all to the world globally in terms of her contribution to the economy.
This is why we will continue to re-emphasis, and promote technology, so that government can focus and channel policies for the growth of the industry.”
While delivering the keynote address Alkasim Umar, the director consumer Affairs Bureau of the Nigerian Communication Commission who represented the Executive Vice President NCC, disclosed that the commission has carried out lots of initiatives to ensure its proactiveness in terms of regulations and flow with technology in Nigeria.
Alkasim Umar while feeding Journalists further revealed that the Research and Development Unit of the commission has set up an initiative as regard capacity building for Nigerian Students Interested in technology in partnership with Nigeria Universities in which lots of students have benefited from.
