Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, APC chieftain and respected media strategist, has commemorated the second anniversary of his daughter’s wedding with an emotional tribute, expressing deep gratitude to prominent leaders including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Governor Dave Umahi for their immense support during the 2023 ceremony.
The wedding of Lady Monica Ada Chidinma Chukwuemeka Eze to Hon. Elechi Oko Elechi took place on 6 May 2023 at the Chapel of Mercy, a Christian ministry founded by the bride’s mother, Evang. Ada Chioma Henrietta Eze, in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The traditional and white wedding drew dignitaries from across Nigeria’s political, religious, and academic circles.
“May 6th, 2023 will remain memorable in the hearts of the Ezes,” Chief Eze stated. “We celebrated our daughter in grand style in a peaceful town that has given Nigeria iconic leaders.”
Uburu is home to political stalwarts like Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Dr. Dave Umahi, and Chief Austin Umahi, making it a fitting venue for such an esteemed event.
Chief Eze extended his deepest appreciation to Senator Dave Umahi, who, through Chief Emmanuel Obasi, offered the Osborn La Palm Royal Resort Ltd. for the wedding reception and ensured the road leading to Eze’s compound was tarred and lit.
“I remain indebted to former Gov. Umahi for ensuring that the road leading to my compound was duly tarred with street lighting just for the purpose of the wedding,” Eze said.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, represented by Chief Nelly Mokwenye, co-chaired the event with Rev. Dr. Chukwuma Joseph Chukwu. Eze expressed heartfelt appreciation:
“I was positively shocked by the level of love showered on me by Atiku Abubakar. He is indeed a unifier by words and action.”
Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor of Rivers State and Eze’s political principal, also sent representatives. The celebration was graced by other influential figures including:
Dr. Eric Igwe, ex-Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State
AIG Dr. Grace Okudo and Pharm. Sunny Okudo
Dr. Dakuku Peterside, former DG of NIMASA
Prof. OGB Nwaorgu, Prof. Ekwe Agwu, Prof. Innocent Agu
Dr. Brown Onari, former NPA Executive Director
The Chapel of Mercy service was led by APICP Mariam Ukeni, Rev. Dr. Chukwuma, Pastor Johnson Eze (JP), and Rev. Dr. Nestor Nzeribe, with support from other prominent ministers, making the ceremony spiritually rich.
Eze acknowledged the presence of church communities and friends from RPM, RCCG PENIEL Parish, RCCG Dominion Parish, NPC staff, FUPA, and the Umungwuta Family Meeting, among others.
The emotional highlight of the anniversary came from Eze’s youngest daughter, Grace C. Chukwuemeka-Eze, who wrote:
“Happy wedding anniversary to my beautiful sister and her husband. Your marriage is a quiet, steady kind of love—the kind that speaks through patience, kindness, and shared strength. It’s been a privilege to witness your journey together… May the years ahead bring even more peace, growth, and moments of quiet joy.”
Chief Eze concluded:
“May God bless my daughter and her husband, Elechi, for giving us reasons to know more about the awesomeness of our great God. Your home is blessed. I pray God to bless your union and cause your marriage to be a blessing to this generation, in Jesus’ name.”
